About us...

30 students | in 9 different majors | from 1st to 4th year
ONE MISSION
To build a community of designers by empowering creativity and innovative thinking. We work towards this goal by providing events, workshops, competitions and designathons for students free of charge. Our focus is to teach technical skills, such as: CAD, 3D modeling, 3D printing, prototyping, mechanical engineering and architecture design, and to provide opportunities for students to apply their knowledge to real-world problems. We also connect students with others who are also passionate about technical design as well as with industry professionals through our Internship Program and networking opportunities.
We're always open to expanding our team! Applications open all year and to students from all years and faculties in UBC.

The Design League Community
Designathons are the fastest growing design competition in Canada!
Over the years, design leagues have been sponsored by 50+ corporations and have served thousands of students. Below are just some of the major design leagues that are highly active; including McMaster Design League where the first Design League was formed in 2015!

All design leagues are sponsored by the National Design League (NDL), lead by founders of the original club, who provide resources and guidance to the various university chapters. Winners of local Designathons are invited to compete in the National Designathon which brings talented student designers together for an intense competition. The long-term goal of NDL is to grow into an international community of problem solvers and innovators, giving students a platform to learn and apply their creative ideas while acting as a hands-on recruitment platform.
